SpoonerPlus, which offers essential aftercare to new and existing customers worldwide in the food, metals, paper, converting and environmental markets, has worked closely with a number of customers on recent energy efficiency upgrades. The West Yorkshire-based company has the essential process skills and machine building knowledge to optimise the performance of existing process equipment. The company’s services include optimisation, refurbishments, modifications, and maintenance contracts as well as providing spare parts, ensuring that machinery is always performing to its optimum capacity. The recent energy efficiency upgrades it has worked on have included the following: • Inverter upgrades on fans, allowing fans to run at lower speeds dependant on product loading therefore reducing energy consumption. • Retrofit heat recovery systems, allowing for waste exhaust gasses to pre heat gas burner combustion air. As combustion air is a constant demand during oven operation, the recovered heat increases the efficiency of the system. • SpoonerPlus assist customers to achieve the optimum efficiency of their machinery. Changes made help to increase throughput, reduce energy usage and optimise process conditions. General Manager, Andrew Stead, and Sales & Projects Manager, Michael Birts, are available to talk new or existing customers through their needs.
