Nathaniel Roberts from Ealing has been announced as the winner of a new EBCO bike, worth £1,399, in a competition by battery specialist, VARTA, and Swedish retailer, Clas Ohlson.
The competition, in partnership with electric bike manufacturer, EBCO, offered Clas Ohlson customers the chance to win an EBCO Urban City UCL-30. To enter, customers needed to purchase a VARTA 24-pack smart-box of batteries from any of the seven Clas Ohlson stores across the UK and text a designated number stating why they’d like to ride an electric bike to make their next battery purchase at Clas Ohlson.
Mr Roberts said: “I didn’t expect to win when I entered the competition, so hearing from Clas Ohlson that I had was bit of a shock. It’s been a few years since I last owned a bike, so it will come in handy. I’ve taken it out for a couple of rides since collecting it last week and I absolutely love it, electric bikes are definitely the way forward!”
Natalie Carney, VARTA Trade Marketing Manager, UK & Ireland, added: “Congratulations goes to Mr Roberts. We couldn’t be happier that the prize went to a worthy winner who was in need of a new bike. Hopefully he enjoys using it whenever he needs to collect some new batteries.
“We’d also like to thank Clas Ohlson and EBCO bikes for their partnership and support with the competition. It was a fantastic prize to be able to offer entrants and Clas Ohlson was the perfect retailer to host the competition.”
